Meet our Peers

Peter

Aviation is a dynamic business. Just like our life. It is all the better to know that no one has to go through turbulent phases on their own. Regardless of whether this turbulence feels light, medium or heavy. We are a team. And as such, we are there for one another. I have experienced several times in my life how nice it is not to have to fly through intense situations alone. That is why I am now happy to be there for you and your concerns. May our planned and emotional flights always land safely.

Evelin

Sometimes the world is upside down, sometimes you want to hug the world. Not every day is pink, unfortunately. Every now and then a lot is demanded of us and we all long for an open ear and unrestricted attention. I am married and have two fully fledged daughters. I am interested in the stories of people; they have different inclinations, talents, desires from the heart, ways of life and forms of expression. I love to listen and, with the help of my life and work experience, be a valuable peer partner for my colleagues.

Murielle

I am very happy and grateful to be part of this great team. I have been in the cabin for Swiss since 20 years now, mother of two teenage girls and have lots of life experience due to different stories that life writes I've been through…

The well-being of my precious Swiss family is very close to my heart. We all have moments where we need a good listener and the ability to talk to an anonymous and discreet colleague at times of stress, grief or uncertainty.

I am pleased to assist in any way I can - through whatever challenges you may face right now. Let your heart speak... and love yourself just for trying. I am here for you.

Valerie

I’m happy to be able to share my experience with others through the Swiss Peer Support Team. I have a 34-year of experience in and around the airline business such as president of the cabin crew union, care team member (SAT) and now as QCMC LH. I have continued with my extensive training throughout my career in areas such as high-performance leadership, mediation and support for people in end of life situation, grief and in crisis situation. My areas of interest are topics such as vulnerability, courage and shame. I am 56 years old and life has given me the opportunity to redefine myself several times after going through separations, losses and lots of joyful moments. I am therefore grateful to have a rich and rewarding emotional life. In my opinion one of our most valuable asset is what connects people together - the importance of the bonding. I can provide support in English, French, German (Swiss German) and Dutch.

Marietta

My name is Marietta and I am very happy to be part of the Cabin Crew Peer Support Team. My great interest in people has been with me for most of my life. As part of my various tasks in adult education, as Maître de Cabine as well as as a private person, it is a great enrichment for me to be able to accompany and support people in my environment in certain phases of their lives. Always with the focus on accompanying my counterpart so that they can find their own way to their personal goal. To be a companion, to stimulate thinking and to empower my fellow human beings is joy and passion at the same time for me. To be able to grow personally when dealing with others is a great happiness, satisfaction and a great privilege. I myself have often been happy in my life that someone has given me an open ear to listen to my concerns with patience and understanding. Therefore, I am very happy to be able to give something back as a peer and look forward to all the encounters that I can experience in my role as a peer supporter.

Jenny

I have been a passionate flight attendant for almost 14 years, 9 of them happily at Swiss, have 2 grown children and have been a single parent ........... my family lives in another continent and everything was 100% job a big challenge ..... like many of us I have been on the other side of the coin and needed someone to listen to me someone to Show Me the way back to my Path .......... then listening is often the only thing needed to help someone ...... it just feels so good when you know "YOU ARE NOT ALONE"

Now is time for me to give back what life gave me and when it is getting tough let us put one foot in front of the other and just keep on going.

Yousra

Our work as a cabin crew is physically and mentally demanding. The stress of the time change, the lack of social continuity, the irregular working hours and the current global situation pose stressful problems for us. I myself have experienced phases after rotations, with dwindling resources and the feeling of having to recharge your batteries. In times like this, it has always helped to have a contact person with similar experiences, an open ear, recognition and empathy. In my training as a HEB Coach, which I completed at the Fachschule Basel, I learned to actively listen and to develop solution-oriented strategies in different life situations. In this way, I often manage to resolve disputes quickly and resolve conflicts with positive results. As part of the Peer Support Team, I would like to accompany you on your journey with my courteous nature, my commitment and my 10 years of professional experience.

As soon as the view becomes a little cloudy or unknown terrain is flown, you are happy to have a radar. This radar has to be recalibrated from time to time in order to be able to align itself again as best as possible. Sometimes you can do this quite well on your own, other times support is needed. I hope that in cooperation with a peer a clearer view can be achieved and I am happy to be able to support you in this.

Tom

I hope to be of valuable support to colleagues in these challenging times. Always having an open ear and simply listening carefully.

Born in 1965 and with 31 years of service as an M / C, I am one of the older / more experienced peers.

My image of man is positive and benevolent. I have already been able to accompany some friends through difficult phases. It always struck me that an open conversation can trigger so many positive things and that it is a welcome help.

Being part of this team is a pleasure and gives additional motivation.

Peer support is a good thing in difficult times.

Being a cabin crew member means being a sales person, fireman, police officer, judge, nurse, psychologist, fortune-teller and so much more! And if we think of all the other roles we have to cope with next to work - it is sometimes overwhelming and this feels lonely. Having to face a new situation can be an unusual challenge as well as finding a solution can make your thoughts turning in rounds. You don’t have to keep up with everything alone, because I am here to listen to you. With a background in the international hotel business I am still exploring the amazing world through aviation for 17 years now. My greatest balance for this moving life is soothing yoga. With yours and my experience together we will be able to find new angles and point of views.

Michael

While on duty, already small gestures or courtesies can create big effects for our passengers. Especially when they come unexpectedly or a flying guest is in need of help or support.

As a peer I would love to offer you the seemingly small gesture of listening and hopefully making you feel understood. Your issue is what matters in our conversation. Whether you are in need of support or just feel like talking to someone who works in the same context to ease your concerns.

Seven years as a flight attendant for SWISS with all the ups and sometimes downs is where I will start from in our chat.

Miri

Seeing myself as a positive Spirit, who shares the belief that the world will be a better place if we care more about each other's well-being. Humanity is something we need to give out in order to receive it back.

That's why I am happy and proud to be part of this wonderful Team. With this project we can set another example of what Support, Teamspirit and the „SWISS-Heart“ means - all of which are important foundations of our strong SWISS Culture.

Same as within our job - working with people and doing good for them is what brings the most meaning to me and is where I feel that I have the most to offer. With empathy and an open heart I want you to feel connected to someone who truly cares for you.

No matter how dark your world might feel, I want you to know that you are not alone and there is always someone to talk to. Someone that Cares about you, Listens to you and Sees you. Everyone goes through challenging Times in Life and sharing my experiences may help you to assess your situation differently, find Hope and see that you are not alone with your feelings.

The Swiss Peer Program is from Cabin Crew and for Cabin Crew. We are one Team. And your Well-being is in the Center of it!

Sara

I'm here to listen and support, because having someone to talk with while I was going through hard times made the real difference.

I'm here to offer a safe environment where we can discuss about anything, because it was so important for me to find acceptance and no judgement whenever I felt vulnerable and insecure.

I've been flying as a cabin crew member for 20 years now and, yes, our job can be rather challenging sometimes; but I love the way we are always ready to help each other at work: I'll do my best to support you the same way, I know, you would be ready to support me while we're on board in the same crew.

Sometimes they are easy, pleasurable, successful and satisfying - sometimes turbulent, demanding, sad, discouraging ... Sometimes they challenge or overwhelm us!

No matter where you stand, what thoughts and feelings concern you, what topic you want to exchange ideas about - your contact with us from the Cabin Peer Support Team can inspire you, bring relief, create clarity and make you braver, so that you can trust you take the next steps on your way.

For many years I have been interested in influences that have an effect on our well-being, our attitudes and our behavior and shape our dealings with others.

Training and advanced training in various functions at SWISS, as well as external training in personal development and communication, have long been a formative part of my life.

The knowledge and experience I have acquired, as well as personal coaching, help me to find the balance in my own challenging phases of life and family issues. Empathy, mindfulness, loyalty and openness are important to me when I meet people and support them in different life situations.

I, in the role of Cabin Peer Support, would be happy to be able to accompany you a little on your way in confidence.

Sometimes you carry things around with you that become a burden and you feel like you can't talk to anyone about it. But the longer you wait, the greater the burden seems. Or you simply want a neutral counterpart in order to exchange ideas and receive new impulses.

In any case, I would like to offer you a safe place where you can deposit your concerns of any kind. I promise you impartiality and the utmost discretion, as your well-being is very important to me.

It's not always easy to take the first step, but it's worth it because when you talk to someone, a door opens. I'm already looking forward to our conversation today!

Angeles

After more than 16 years in the aviation business, I have experienced lots of good's and bad's.
Spanish, married with Brazilian, no children, but a dog, I feel comfortable talking in Spanish, English, French and/or Portuguese.
Sometimes we just need someone to talk with someone, who knows how our (such a different) life is and will not judge us...
I will be more than happy to be that "someone" to talk with if needed. Anytime.

Dominique

Let’s face it, Life has a way of crashing down on even the toughest, most resilient among us. So what do we usually do? Some try to deal with the challenge on their own, some ignore it and put it in a box, some freeze / panic and don’t find a way out. When sometimes the best way to face a challenge would be to talk about it with somebody else. Here at Peer support, I want to let you know that I’m here to walk the same road with you. I am here so you don’t have to face it alone. I want to show you that there is hope, there are solutions, different solutions which will help you face your challenges. One important thing that I have learned over the last 13 years at SWISS is that we are made for community. We are made to be connected with others. This connection in hard times is the missing piece to our wellbeing. So please don’t hesitate, pick up the phone and let’s simply talk!
